It's
hard to believe that Harry is now over three years
old..........time sure flies when you're having fun, I guess!
He has held together beautifully, and is still just as narrow
and flexible as he was as a puppy; like his mother Mona and
grandmother Witch, his chest has also remained tiny and
cat-like, with a wonderful feel and flexibility. He just
seems to get better and better with age.
Harry is probably one of the most consistent terriers I've ever
bred; he has remained extremely competitive in both conformation and racing throughout his
career.........he can always be depended on to turn in a top notch performance in the
field, regardless of what quarry he's put to..........but probably he's the most
consistent as a sire. He really stamps his get with his type, and always
manages to pass on his clean, narrow front end to his offspring. If a better
front end, great shoulder and tiny, flexible chest is what is needed to improve
a bitch, then Harry is definitely the man for the job!!!
I've yet to see a Harry baby that doesn't have his lovely front end assembly.
Of course, consistency can work against you too..........Harry also seems to be pretty
consistent at passing on his abundant amount of coat!
Harry's babies for the most part, seem to be just about as
consistent as their sire; they're excelling in the hunt field, in conformation
and racing, just like their dad.
Sow's Ear Sparkle, owned by Wendy Palmer of ThistleRidge Jack Russells, has
already earned her NHC, and even though she barely makes 11 inches, her favorite
quarry is raccoon!!! Littermates Sow's Ear Merrick and Sow's Ear Honey in the Sunshine didn't get much bigger either; Honey too is a cracker in the field. They are the ultimate hole dogs!
Harry babies are knocking 'em dead on the
West Coast too, many of them out of Skytop Charisma, bred by Chris Levine and
now owned by Didi Gough. This cross has been so successful it has been repeated
3 times!
And probably one of the nicest Harry kids has
stayed right at home with her dad---Suzy Mayfair of Edgewater. This little
girl looks to have quite a bright future indeed!
Harry is co-owned and lives with Twila Decker
of Edgewater Jack
Russells in Matamoras, Pa.
