The 1998 U.S. & Canadian National Champion, Riot is about as close to perfection as is possible; that title is reserved for her mother.  She is without a doubt the most balanced terrier I have ever seen, she literally cannot put a foot down wrong.  She has it all - strong, elegant head; neck, front, topline, rear and coat.   Basically she is "Revlon in Rough".

Having done everything there was to do in the conformation ring, Riot turned her interests toward the racetrack, where she has consistently been one of the top "under" dogs in the country since she started her racing career.

At the U.S. Nationals in 2001, she made history by being the first U.S. National Conformation Champion to also be a U.S. National Racing Champion!!  In 2002, she added the title of Canadian National Racing Champion to that list.  In 2003 she bounced back from a difficult C-section to capture the U.S. National Veteran Racing Championship title and bring home the perpetual trophy that her mother had won just three short years ago.  The next day she went on to win the Veteran Working Terrier Bitch class at Nationals in her first appearance in regular conformation classes since retiring years before..   And, in 2004, she was the Canadian National Veteran Racing Champion!

2005 was another fantastic year for Riot on the race track; she was beaten only once in the veteran class, a week after a pretty tough hunting injury.   She also was "dusted off" and put back in the conformation ring on occasion, and at over 8 years of age, still managed to win Best Working Bitch and Reserve Working terrier honors at trials with huge entries and stiff competition.   And once again, she won the Veteran Working Bitch class at the 2005 U. S. Nationals.   But by far the most important accomplishment of her amazing career came on Sunday morning at Nationals when she stepped into the Brood Bitch & Produce class for the very first time.   Not only did she win the class and bring home the perpetual trophy that has her mother's and her great-great grandmother's names on it so many times, but like her mother, she then went on to win the 2005 U. S. National Best Family!   A feat that is incredibly difficult for any bitch; but Riot isn't just "any bitch."

Riot's career accomplishments will more than likely never be duplicated! She is living, breathing proof that correct terriers can perform well in any discipline.  They don't need to be bred to race!  And.........she's a Bronze Medallion Bitch to boot!!! Not to mention a champion producer to boot!

This bitch does it all, and gives you 110% doing it.  She just has so much heart!

She has passed on her incredible abilities to her children and grandchildren; from her Meynell Turban litter, Sow's Ear Roxelana has produced two lovely dog pups by Bear, Sow's Ear White Phantom & Sow's Ear White Roman, both of whom have multiple conformation and racing wins.  And from that same litter, Sow's Ear Jib is probably "outperforming" his mother in yet another venue: Flyball.   He became a Flyball Champion his first weekend out in competition, and currently, after completing his first competitive year in Flyball, has accumulated over 10,000 points and, if he continues at the rate he's going, is headed for the NAFA hall of fame!!!  As his owner puts it: "an incredible achievement"...........

Her only surviving puppy from the first litter by The Hollow AfterMax,
Sow's Ear Phoenix, has matured into a lovely little package.  He's done very well in both the field and in the ring;
earning his NHC as soon as he was legally able to do so, and winning his working dog class at 2005 Nationals.   His first litters are on the ground and look to be promising indeed.   The three surviving puppies from her second litter by AfterMax  are all doing extremely well; little Twiglet is a 10 1/2" dynamo who is now my new very favorite hunting bitch!   And so far, everyone from the third AfterMax litter seem to be right on the same track; little Bugsy is right there with Twiglet in the field, maybe not in looks but definitely in both in size and attitude!   Carly is the reincarnation of little Chigger; looking and acting like her so much that it's scary!  Sparky might very well be the best puppy Riot's ever produced; little Quiet Riot was Puppy Racing Champion at her very first trial, where she was introduced to a muzzle and a starting box for the very first time!  And little Revenge, who is a virtual clone of her mother and owned by Linda at Windermere, earned Reserve Bitch Pup honors at 2005 Nationals the day before helping her mom out in the Family classes.

It's doubtful that Riot will ever be bred again; she has a uterine lining problem that causes her progesterone levels to drop toward the end of her pregnancies, causing premature placental separation and consequently, dead puppies and complicated c-sections.   For her last litter, I worked closely with a top repro specialist in Ohio, and did manage to get the entire litter here alive, but not without efforts of gargantuan proportions!   It was such an extravaganza that the entire event needed a page of its own.   Details can be seen on the  Riot's Miracle Babies  page.

There is nothing quite so rewarding as watching these terriers completely master many different disciplines.  Riot and her offspring are some of the most versatile terriers I have ever produced.  I cannot begin to describe how incredibly proud I am of this awesome little bitch with the heart of a lion.

Riot is co-owned with Linda Cowasjee of Windermere Jack Russell Terriers.
