From Lost Acres:

Rest in Peace...Tippy
April 1989  -- September 2003

In all my years of owning dogs, and raising dogs...the decisions we sometimes have to make...are almost unbearable.  I have only once in my life had to make that decision,  Tippy was the second one.  I had to say my good-byes to her at 14 1/2 years of age....and a more difficult thing I will never do again.  What Tippy leaves behind is well known, what Tippy did for me is NOT.  The things we went through together, through turbulent years, going through a divorce, moving 9 times in ten years,  her keeping me going, in more ways then one, and always HER safety was the most important thing to me, will be only known to her and I.  Part of my heart was buried with her.  Without her, and Linda C. decisions on her first breeding,  there would no Sow's Ear, a legacy of its own.

Where do you go the day we have to say goodbye..
You only know to give the love you gave so freely...
to the very end..

I will write more about this incredible dog....when my heart settles

Nov. 2005
Tippy has been gone for more then 2 years now. Cannot believe how time passes.  She is still here in a way, as I am watching her daughter Jazzie, who is now older then Tipster was when she left us, doing so well with no health or old age issues other then what we all have to face. Her last son, Disney, is now going on 6, and will  never be anything but my *Little Man*. I continue to watch Tippy's legacy and her daughter Jazz, leave their mark on the terrier world. It tickles me pink to see their names in so many pedigrees, although these days, falling off the page more often then not. Though I am only involved at the sidelines these days, I am enjoying thinking back of those days, when we all so young and full of promise of things to come. And they did come, we are just getting older now. Tippy and her legacy will always be living on here, as I snuggle with her last son and first daughter. Some things only happen once in a life time, and Tippy certainly happened for me.
I am sure I will meet my scruffy little girl again, some day.  Iris

Tippy, what things there are to tell about Tippy, the little bitch that started it all for  Lost Acres..and the story there is to tell about this wonderful little dog,  who came adorned with a pedigree to make the bluebloods worry, and the legacy she left behind.

This little dog has the bloodlines that have proven themselves all over   and over again.  It is just unbeatable....her sire Tek of Windemere and her dam Fox Run Risk speak for themselves. She is the matriarch of all of Sow's Ear sucsesses.   Tippy is the dam of Jazz...but all will be put together when these pages are read. Her disposition cannot be matched....and she passes it along generations down..Without her, there would not be any of the others.

She will remain the first and the most important Jack Russell I ever owned, and a power breeder to match. She has produced one of the best broodbitches in Jazz, both of them who are the reason Sow's Ear and Lost Acres   exist.

Tippy has given me my first insight in the Jack Russell world, has produced more champions in her offsprings through generations, and has been a pleasure to own.   There was never clocked a faster dog then she in the first 4 years of us discovering yet another pleasure of owning a JR, the racing side.

Today, at the age of   13, she is happy,  fit,  healthy and acts like someone years younger, sometimes playing like a young pup with the others, but  she remains the matriarch of everything and anything that passes through Lost Acres....Let her pedigree speak for itself, and remember..every dog on this website is here because of her....I love her dearly....

Tippy had a big surprise for us all..on March 24th 2000.  She gave birth to her last puppy( since at age 11,  I had a spayed during the c-section), a big bouncing healthy male pup. This was not a planned breeding. Tippy decided to have a silent heat, and I was not aware of the fact until I found her and BabyBear engaging in extra curricular activities. Needless to say, I wasn't worried,  nice match between the two, although at age 11, I never expected this bitch to actually take.  Well she did.! And the legacy continues on once more.   ..(Here he is, her last puppy..Lost Acres Disney)
